Resolved: Journeys in Australian Design

I currently have work in a touring exhibition titled 'Resolved: Journeys in Australian Design' which opened up at Object Galleries in April 2014. The show has travelled to the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre in Katoomba NSW and is now at the Western Plains Cultural Centre in Dubbo NSW. The exhibition tells the stories of 12 designers that have been selected from the "Workshopped" exhibition that is held annually in Sydney every year.

Each designer is presented on a modular shelving system with graphics that aims to take you on the designer's journey. Within the context of each exhibit, the notion of design process is explored. The works displayed include contemporary objects with traditional cultural expressions, experimental use of material and manufacturing systems and innovative application of new technology.

This is a touring exhibition which will travel to 5 other venues around Australia. This includes Cairns Regional Art Gallery QLD, Bunbury Regional Galleries WA, Geraldton Regional Art Gallery WA, Albury Library Museum NSW and Tasmanian Design Centre, Launceston TAS.

As part of the program I have had the great opportunity to work with the amazing Rose Downie. Running workshop programs based on the themed works from the Resolved exhibition. Rose is the educational coordinator for Object Galleries. Rose and I will be involved in a number of workshops this year. We look forward to working with these gallery communities sharing and educating.

These are some of the works that are currently on tour. In order from top to bottom, Integrated Earring Boxes, Flowery Series and Blossom Ring Box. For more information regarding these pieces please visit www.bictieu.com
