End of 2013 while occupying the Workshopped studio shop under Object Galleries I was commissioned by a friend to design some earrings for his fiancée. It was based on one of my favourite designs. This one slightly different in that I added layers of lacquer as the main feature. It was the first time using Japanese lacquer for this design. In the past I have applied bone, ebony or silver. The back of the earrings are etched on the surface. When the two units are brought together, they form a floral image. The work took several month to complete because of the lacquer work application. The photography shows the front and back view.
